Job Description
The Village of Jemez Springs is hiring a full-time Center Director to manage the Community and Visitor Center at 25 Civic Center Lane. Reporting directly to the Mayor, the Director will develop the facility into a centralized hub for community engagement and tourism information. This position is grant funded for two years. The Director will manage the Center budget while working to establish a sustainable post-grant funding stream for center operations.
Duties and Responsibilities Working under the direction of the Mayor, the Center Director manages the daily operations of the facility and develops programming to serve residents and visitors. Day-to-day work includes:
- Managing the physical facility at 25 Civic Center Lane.
- Developing and coordinating community programs based on public input.
- Providing tourism information and resources to Village visitors.
- Collaborating with municipal staff and regional partners like the Sandoval County Tourism Alliance to coordinate tourism efforts and advertising.
- Working with the Mayor to identify and secure funding streams to sustain operations beyond the initial two-year grant period.
- Helping the Village maintain compliance with local regulations and state statutes during Center operations.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Comfort with computers, email, and basic office software
- Willingness to learn how to interpret and apply state statutes and local regulations
- Ability to work well as part of a small team and engage directly with the public
Position Details This is a full-time, non-exempt position of approximately 40 hours per week during regular Village office hours, with occasional evening or weekend hours for community events and Center programming.
